Another item off the list

I spent the evening making 3 photocopies of each page of every document in our dossier (which is a lot of pages, believe me!). Two copies as well as the originals are for the agency and the other copy is for us. I had actually made copies of the documents before, but their kind of scattered in my folder, so I made another copy that will be exactly like those I send out. Next I re-proofread every document again after reading the agency's instructions and the way they stressed the absolute importance of accuracy in all documents. Finally, I sorted the documents in the order requested by the agency. Whew, took longer than I expected! I also had to put some pictures of our house and us onto photo album pages and label them. I already had the pictures ready to go, so it didn't take too long for that part.

The good news is that now I can mail out the dossier tomorrow! Normally the agency requires a parenting workbook be filled out (20+ pages) and signed by each of us and mailed in with the dossier. However, I sent an email to the program manager and he said due to our unique situation, we could mail the dossier now and get the workbook done as soon as possible. Usually it's something for the applicants to work on while they wait for the various documents in the dossier to be completed; however, since we already have the dossier done he didn't want to make us wait to mail it in. That was great news because Daron had a huge project install at work today and would have had no time or energy to try to fill his out this week. Guess that'll be the next task!

Things have been moving very quickly over the last few days. I would anticipate a slight lull now while we work on the workbooks and they check in and validate our dossier, but I will let you know as soon as something new and exciting happens.
