Nearing the end of the paperwork
We received the rest of the certified documents for our dossier from the other Secretary of State yesterday. I was really impressed with the turnaround of both states to which we submitted documents. Today, Daron put the documents in the mail to be sent to the General Consulate of Guatemala in the US for our region. Luckily, both states from which we had documents go to the same regional Consular office, so we're done shipping different documents to different places. Once we receive the authenticated documents back, we can submit them to our adoption agency. At that point we are officially waiting!
I'm going to have to be creative about topics to post here until referral since there will be no real milestones between now and that point. I was so hopeful that referral would be within a few weeks of submitting our dossier originally, so I didn't think I would have trouble filling up the blog.
If you've wondered how the Spanish lessons are going, well I'm still plugging away on the CDs. I'm going to have to just keep replaying the lessons until we eventually travel to have any hope of remembering anything. Even when I let a few days go between lessons I struggle to remember the words I learned previously. The lessons build on each other, so luckily, I continue to use the words I've already learned in the susequent lessons. Daron still has not started listening to the CDs. I guess he's going to cram before going. We'll see how that works out...hee, hee.
