Time for a change

We made a big decision today. After talking with our adoption agency this morning and finding out they had had zero referrals since January, we decided to find another agency. Luckily, our current agency didn't fight it and has agreed to send our dossier back. They hadn't yet processed it, so the check hadn't been cashed and no paperwork had moved off the social workers desk. Therefore, it seemed like an ideal time to make the move.

So, that means we're actively looking for another agency. Daron called one today but wasn't sure he was entirely comfortable with them. I will call them tomorrow and see how I feel. We would most likely have a referral within 1 to 3 weeks if we went with them. Wow! I also have the names of a few other agencies, so I plan on calling them tomorrow as well. I've heard from others that they have very quick referrals, too. These agencies are much bigger than our current agency, thus the vast difference in referral times.

Of course, after referral we would still have several months before we would travel (probably 5-8), but at least it would most likely be this year. I can't tell you how exciting yet absolutely terrifying it is that this could happen so soon!
