The wait is on
Well, we're only a couple weeks into our wait and I'm already ready for it to be over. Big surprise, eh? I haven't heard any news from our agency lately, so I really don't know if they've had any recent referrals. I plan to send an email to our social worker tonight to verify they received our dossier, so hopefully she'll give us an update when she replies back.
Spanish lessons continue to be fun. I had lesson 8 playing on my car radio today when I drove some friends to lunch. They all wanted me to leave it on and learn with me. I had to laugh when the instructor told us to say 'Two beers, please', and all of my passengers in stereo said, 'Dos Sarbesos, por favor' without having to hear the Spanish instruction first. Sorry, if I'm murdering the spelling, but that is the down side of learning by CD.
I'll post again soon. Hopefully, I can come up with topics that aren't too boring until the real excitement begins.

hey, you had most of the words right! :) cerveza is the word for beer. cervezas is plural.
it's a very important and useful phrase to have.
also, you'll then want to know, "donde esta el bano?"
(Where is the bathroom?)
and for the people who make you mad:
Como chingas!
(You don't want to know what that means!!! But trust me - it will get results.)
Thanks for the helpful info, Teena! I was way off on the beer spelling. It's much easier to spell in English. :0) Coincidentally, the lesson I started today taught us how to say 'Where is the bathroom', but now I know how to spell it as well. I'll trust you that I don't want to know about that last statement!
Hope you're hanging in there, my friend. I'm thinking of you.
Jill
