A little more info

We will be receiving a referral packet for a little boy named Adan tomorrow (there is an accent over the second 'a', so it is apparently pronounced like uh-Don). He was born on January 15th and is reported to be healthy. The birthmom relinquished him in February. Apparently, the main reason he does not yet have a home is that most people want little girls. We just couldn't leave him waiting for a home. It is still not official until we accept the referral, but unless there is something completely unexpected in the information we are being sent, that will not be the case.

Here is what we know. His birthmom is a single 22 year old woman from somewhere in southern Guatemala. He has brown hair and brown eyes, but we'll have to wait for the packet to know his measurements. As I said before, his medical report states he is healthy. We should get pictures in the packet (I can't wait!). I will not be posting them here as we don't believe we are allowed while he is not legally ours. However, I will send it by email assuming we accept the referral.

So, we decided to buy a crib! In the three pictures I posted, the crib we bought is in the third. The hutch we plan to also purchase is in the first. We haven't decided what if any other furniture we'll purchase. We do have a nice walk-in closet in the baby room, so we have lots of space for clothes. I think we may want to leave room for a daybed or rocker.

We also found some bedding we love (see second pic - not of our room, just a pic I found online). We went ahead and bought a six piece set that has the sheet, quilt, valance, diaper stacker, bumper, and dust ruffle. We don't plan to use the bumper as a bumper, but we're going to see if there is some way to use it for something else.

I'll post tomorrow night when I have an official update.
