We have a referral!
Sorry it took me so long to post, but this weekend has been pretty crazy. Most of you have already heard, but we will be sending in the acceptance paperwork for Adan's referral tomorrow. We're so excited! We could tell from his photos that he is definitely healthy and thriving.
His name will be spelled Adan as given, but it will be pronounced like 'Aiden' rather than 'Uh-Don'. We have decided his middle name will be Daron after his new dad.
We should get pictures and updates on a monthly basis, and we can send him packages with either other couples traveling to Guatemala or through a delivery service. The regular mail is apparently very unreliable, so they don't recommend trying to use it.
Now the hard part begins...the waiting! As soon as our paperwork is forwarded to Guatemala, the process officially begins, and is currently taking about 5-6 months to be complete. There are a number of steps, and if I tried to list them all out here, I'm sure I would get them wrong. I believe the first step will be to have the case filed in Family Court, which could last 6-8 weeks. I'll keep you posted as each step begins and ends.
