We are OUT!!!

We received the long awaited news that we are out of PGN this week. This was just the best news we could have hoped for. We are starting to settle in here in Antigua, but neither one of us really desires to live here that long! Anyway, now we await news that the birth mother has signed the adoption decree. At that point, he is legally our son! Unfortunately, that doesn't mean he can come home just yet. After the adoption decree is signed, a new birth certificate will be issued in the city of his birth (which is Cuilapa). After the birth certificate is issued, an application for his visa will be submitted to the US Embassy in Guatemala City. Depending on how busy the embassy is, it can take a couple weeks for the appt. All in all, we can probably expect to be here another 4-6 weeks (officially they tell us 4-8, but we haven't heard of too many cases taking more than 5 weeks or so). Of course, we haven't been on the short side of too many time estimates, so I shouldn't be making such bold statements. Anyway, please pray for these processes to go quickly! We would love to be home in time to celebrate his first birthday on the 15th of January.
