I'm a wuss
Well, we moved to Antigua yesterday...and back to Guatemala City today. Don't get me wrong, the hotel we were staying at was very pretty and the staff was all very nice, but there was no TV and the internet access was very sketchy. There were no other people with babies and the windows didn't close completely. Thus, you could hear people in the other rooms. We were on a small patio garden which is in the middle of the hotel, so the windows weren't open to the public, but they were open to the outside air. It got pretty cold, and even though Adan slept completely through the night, I was still worried about it being too cold for him. Also, the floors were tile, so it was hard to give him any tummy or playing time on the floor. I let him play on the king sized bed, but it was so soft, it was hard for him to stay sitting up.
Unfortunately, the Marriott was booked until the 8th of December, so we're at the Westin until then. It's more expensive and way more formal. It doesn't have the comfortable feeling that the Marriott had. The Marriott staff told us to call back each day and see if there are any cancellations, otherwise, we'll head over on the 8th.
This is going to be challenging. We found out we were kicked out of PGN again on Nov. 30th. It was apparently a simple fix because we were resubmitted that same day. This was really deflating news, because we were really hoping to go home by Christmas. That is highly unlikely now. We can't really go very many places outside the hotel, because it just isn't safe in Guatemala City. We are still on the waiting list for an apartment in Antigua that is specifically for people fostering their babies. Hopefully, we'll hear something sometime.
Adan is doing well. He sleeps all night every night. Last night he fell asleep a little after 6 and still slept until 7am! Tonight, however, he isn't feeling like going to sleep. I suppose because he had so much sleep last night.
