It's a match!
I braved the pouring rain this afternoon because I just had to check the mail. It was well worth it because in the mail were the results of the DNA test. Not that we ever doubted she would be, but the test showed that there is a 99.999% chance she is his biological mother (in other words, it was conclusive). We also received a nice polaroid of the birthmother and Adan. It will be a nice keepsake for Adan's lifebook (that I haven't exactly started yet...).
The results were also mailed to the US Embassy in Guatemala, so now we await news that they have issued our pre-approval. I imagine it takes a couple days longer to get there, but hopefully it won't take too long. It does sometimes take a couple weeks to actually issue the pre-approval from what I've seen on other people's timelines. Once we get pre-approval, we can enter PGN!
We should receive new pictures soon. I'm really hoping by the end of the day, but I'm starting to feel my hope of that fading. It will be a bummer to have to wait through the weekend, but I guess I should be very used to waiting by now.
I'll keep you posted!
