July's Measurements

We haven't heard anything further about DNA or Family Court, but we did get our monthly measurements update. We're happy to report he seems to be continuing to grow at a healthy rate. He is now weighing in at 14lbs 14oz, up from 13lbs 4 oz last month. He gained a centimeter in length and is now at 62cm, and his head circumference also gained a centimeter to 41cm. We should get the next set of pictures mid to late next week.

In the meantime, we wait impatiently to hear whether or not the DNA test has been completed and if we've exited Family Court. I knew the wait would be hard, but wow, I didn't know that I would anxiously check email every chance I could (even into the evening hours) just hoping for some piece of new news.

Oh, I guess I did learn one fun thing this week. Adan has a foster sister named Audrey. The woman sent me an email because through some of my messages on our agency yahoo group, she realized our babies have the same foster mother. Audrey was born in April and placed in the foster home in May. She shared a picture with me, and she is a sweetie too. She also knew from her paperwork that the foster mother has a 7 year old daughter. That is good to know because it is customary to bring some gifts to the foster family when picking up your baby. My paperwork said nothing about her.
